I'm not Irish.
And yet, I've written a play about an Irish family in the States, including the 1st generation matriarch and patriarch, their 2nd generation children, and their 3rd generation granddaughter.

While not being a physicist can, arguably, be faked with enough research and curiosity - at least for the little bits that need to make their way into The Physics of Joy - there is not an internet-dictionary of slang deep enough nor specific enough to fake being a 1st generation Northern Irish couple, 25+ years into living in the states. Trust me, I've been trying (and likely coming off more like Lucky the Leprechaun than true Irish folk for all my effort).
Thankfully, one of my best friends is a 1st generation Irishman, as is one of my favorite peers and coworkers. And, so, allow me to offer a big thank you to March Rogers and Conor O'Sullivan for your time and input.
